Entertainment can be Knowledge

More times than not, I have been laying in my bed bored not knowing what to do. Tired of streaming shows, that my brain is literally tell me that I need a break. Or reading so much, that I start to get frustrated with the characters and start giving advice and telling them what to do, as if they can hear me. Sometimes I get so bored that I can’t get into listen to my music and anyone who knows me, knows that #musicislife! So, when I get to this point I turn to This American Life. This American Life, is a podcast that deals with a wide range of topics in relation to... you guested it, life in America. Most of the podcast are short stories about an event or a person’s life. The last podcast I listen to was an update on a show from 2015, about a man named Abdi Nor, a Somali refugee living in Kenya. The podcast talks about his journey from refugee to American citizen and what he endured during this time. Another episode I listen to back in 2019. The podcast had been posted in 2016 and was about Georgia’s Judicial Qualification Commission (JQC). The JQC investigates ethical complaints about judges. This particular episode talked about the length people went to in order to restrict the power of the JQC.

Both of these podcast although completely opposit sides of the spectrum are presented in a way that you are entertained but, you also learn something that you may not have otherwise known. This American Life is available to listen to on several apps such as apple podcast, google podcast, radio public, etc. You can only stream the episodes for ten weeks before they are taken down. However, if you visit their site, you can listen to any of the episodes that they have made. Always remember, you are the “Ruler of your thoughts”! #curebordem #podcast #knowledgeiskey
