Accomplishments

The debut album, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, by Roddy Ricch was released on December 6, 2019. Within two weeks of release, Ricch's debt album quickly dropped in on #Billboard200 at number one.

Although it would later be overtaken for number 1, it has remained in the Top 5 on Billboard 200, bouncing between the number 1 and 2 spot often and dropping as far as number 5. The album features sixteen songs. Two of which are the head bopping, mood changing, and body shaking: High Fashion and The Box.

The Box, the most successful song off the debut, sneaked into billboard #Hot100 at number 47 only two weeks after release. Only a month and a half later, it stole the number 1 spot and has rained royalty ever since, making this the 8th consecutive week as Hot 100's number 1.

Steaming ahead, The Box ranks number 1 on #AppleMusic's Top 100: Global, Canada, and USA while ranking number 2 on Top 100: UK. The musical work of art is also ranked within the Top 10 or 20 of several countries Top 100 such as Russia, Cambodia, and Bermuda.

The New Box Challenge

One of the notable part of the song is at the beginning, were a strange sound can be heard before the beat drops. Some wondered were this unusual sound came about, most taking to tik tok making videos of what they thought took place, some being too hilarious for words. This started a new #BoxChallenge, were people danced to the song as well as showed their idea of how the sound was created.

Music Video

This past Friday, Mr. Ricch released the music video to The Box, almost three months after it became so popular. He took to twitter and explained the wait-time saying, "it took me a lil time cause i directed it but the box music video out now".

Off of first impressions, I really enjoyed the music video. I couldn't decide if the it was just a fun and creative master piece or if the video had an alternative meaningful meaning. However, after watching the video several times, I concluded that Mr. Ricch was simply let lose his inner Ryan Coogler, the director of Creed and Black Panther, and making a fun creative music video that people could enjoy. After watching the music video, what do you guys think?

Always remember, you are the #RulerofYourThoughts!
